Cartels in Mexico.
Cartels, the Impact in our Communities ?
“As a guy walks to a friends car and get in a black truck stops and ask for a guy named Neptaly who was the driver. At that moment as the guy replies that he is Neptaly the guys on the black truck pulled out all kinds of guns and weapons to start shooting at the car and the driver. The passenger and the two others that were in the back got killed except one of them survived. Until now no one knows where he is because of the fear he has that they will find him and kill him.” The cartels in Mexico have become more powerful as the years have past. All of the stories that people tell are the same. People get killed everyday in the state of Mexico but in the last five years have increased tremendously, Innocent people are killed by the Cartel just for being at the wrong place with wrong people who are involved in this “ drug war.”
Throughout the last few years the cartels have been growing in power and amount but since 2007 the amount of deaths and the power that they have is amazing. In 2007 , murder at least 2.275. Just a year later grow to 5.207 and in this October of 2013 the amount grow by 4.777 of the innocent people being killed by the cartels. In Mexico trying to control this disease involves with also having in mind that you can get killed. This year in Mexico about 361 cops have been murdered and 25 from the military as well. Many of these deaths ( 142 bodies) have been beheaded , 343 have been left with messages corpses and 383 bodies represented signs of torture The cartel has become more powerful and their government has been having issues trying to stop them. However, our people have to deal with this issue the cartel keep on growing and growing.
Cartels are Taking Over
The cartels have been growing. Today we have over nine cartels that involve thousands of people who operate all over the world. The cartels many years ago only passed the Columbian drugs to the U.S but now they control the illegal business throughout Mexico and the U.S-. Now the Colombians sell their drugs to the highest bidder in this country. El cartel de Sinaloa( Sinaloa Cartel) controls the North of Mexico and the states of Chihuahua, Durango and Sinaloa as well as the southern part of Mexico where they pass the drugs trough Guatemala. Some experts such as former UN adviser Edgardo Buscaglia claim that the relative immunity of the Sinaloa cartel responds to a government strategy of Felipe Calderon to strengthen the position of one of these groups in order to facilitate future negotiation of a truce. Others, such as former Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda De Mexico deny this point. The Gulf cartel dominates the arc of the Gulf of Mexico from the beaches of the peninsula of Yucatan, where they bring much of the Colombian drugs to the northern states of Tamaulipas and Nuevo León. This cartel began around 2003 and was known from its arrested kingpin Osiel Cardenas, later extradited to the U.S. It is believed that his lieutenant Eduardo Costilla, El coss, directs the group. The Tijuana cartel controls all Baja California and Baja California Sur including their stronghold Tjuana.La Family Michoacán controls the central and western states of the country, from Colima to Guerrero. In October 2009 member of the michuaca family were arrested in the U.S. after a great operation (more than 300 people accused being part of the Family Wing.) Juarez Cartel Controls all northern Chihuahua and the states of the Yucatan Peninsula. Their rivals are the Tijuana Cartel and Sinaloa. In maintaining a war for dominance in Chihuhua, especially Juarez, this cartel was founded around 1920. Los Zetas one of the groups with the greatest power and control, controls Northeastern States like Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca Southeast as a center and Michuacan and Mexico. Their State rivals are the Sinaloa cartel and Michoacán family. Hiriberto Lazcano known as El Lazca or, The Executioner leads the Zetas. They are as the armed wing of the Gulf cartel formed by elite member of the Mexican Army and also former Guatemalan military. These cartels are making a big impact in many states in the country of Mexico and this is frustrating to know that these people who are so violent they have so much power over the Mexican territory. The cartel are very powerful and dominate many places of this drug dealers are persuading young kids to be part of this
Growing travesty .
Recruit Kids;
The cartel now has been known to want to recruit teens in our communities no only in Mexico but here in the U.S. and other places in Mexico they recruit teens due to the low economy in Mexico it persuade kids to join their forces so they can earn “easy money” to be able to help their families. Many kids from nine years old are recruit by the cartels have been recruit them because most of them they are very young so everything seems so easy to them. Some of the people that the government arrests are young people and most of them when are being interrogated ask them why they join and they often say to be able to help their parents and that they couldn’t quit from that life because they would always threaten them that they would kill their families so they rather stay and have a life of violence then loose their families. However, the FBI, warns us that the money hungry Zetas drug cartel in Mexico is making a big push to recruit Americans as well. From 2010 to 2011 the Zetas have been attempted to recruit U.S.- based members in Houston, Texas, to join Los Zetas’ war against the gulf of Mexico on both sides of the borders. They want to recruit them so that they can run and distribute drugs and also to diversify the cartel’s criminal portfolio in the U.S. by running guns and targeting rivals. The cartels have also found a supplier of AK-47 variant rifles from Texas-based Tango Blast street gangs. Many people lose their kids because it is easy to persuade them to join, it seems easy but when they realize the kind of life that they have its too late because they won’t let them turn back or get out. Now besides the government involvement, the citizens should try to do something to solve this issue. In this Oct. 24, 2012 photo, a soldier patrols near a temple allegedly built by the drug cartel “Caballeros Templarios,” or Knights Templar, that shows signs of vandalism allegedly left by the Zetas drug cartel in Michoacan state, Mexico.

How the Government is Involved What Should Citizens Do?
Analysts say that they called'' war on narco'' is used by both the Governor to divert attention from the Mexican wing social crisis, economic and living in this country. All cartels that exist now have former soldiers that are military as well special forces of Mexico, and also marines and ex police. The Mexican government is very involved with the movement of the cartels. One example is the leader of the Sinaloa cartel who also works Pacific with cartels he is known as Joaquin “Chapo Guzman” one of the most wanted and his partner Ismael known as ” El Mayo Zambada”. Joaquin is the brother of the wife of the President of Mexico Felipe Calderon. He has the power to address this problem, but as it can’t help the country of Mexico specially when he knows one of the biggest drug traffickers who are part of his family. Many police in Mexico because in Mexico being a cop is not one of the best paid jobs most cops prefer joining the cartels then face them and lose their lives. Only those who believe in justice are still trying to fight this corruption it is critical that we all participate in stopping the cartels so our children and our people can live in a world without violence and drugs. We as a community have the power to fight this problem not entirely but we can try to stop. We must try to avoid buying and consuming illegal drugs produced by the cartels. Studies confirm that many people use illegal drugs. Most of the drugs that the cartels move around the world are consumed in the U.S. A study in 2010 by the National Survey on Drug use and Health recorded that more than 22 million Americans from the age 12 and older use illegal drugs. “I am encouraged there were no significant increases in drug use over the past year,” Gil Kerlikowske, the U.S. directors of national drug control policy, said in a statement. “However, today’s survey also shows that drug use in America remains at unacceptable levels.” People that use these drugs don’t realize all of the violence that stems from their involvement and all the lives that are effected by this. People that know about this problem should persuade other people in the community to avoid using llegal drugs or if they see an illegal move,try to prevent this and have a better world for our kids in the future.
